"I Die Daily" 1 Corinthians 15:31

There are some who insist that there is no propensity in the saved person toward sinning. I disagree due to the myriad of Scriptures which contradict this notion. Christ’s saints are told to "put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts." (Ephesians 4:22)
Colossians 3 says "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." Colossians 3:5-10
The command to “put off the old man” and to “put on the new man” which is a “daily” cross decision makes it clear that there is something to crucify (Luke 9:23-24; Ephesians 4; Colossians 3, etc.).
The apostle Paul taught that the sinful “body” is to be kept “under” the power of the Holy Ghost and that we must "die daily." (1 Corinthians 9:27; 15:31)

Of this Marcus Brooks aptly writes:
“The enemy will always try and blind us and trip us up wherever he can – with the lie that we have nothing in us to crucify daily. That's why I think it's so important that we love and pray for one another. And try to keep a heart that is teachable. If we don't, we will most assuredly get caught up in pride. I believe that as long as we live in this flesh we will have a tendency to want to sin, even after we are saved. If not, there would be NO need to put to death the deeds of the flesh DAILY (Romans 6). We are utterly depraved and in need of a savior (Jeremiah 17:9). Didn't Paul say that he did what he didn't want to do? (Romans 7) Does this give us a license to sin? – of course not! Those who die in sin will spend eternity in hell (Revelation 21:8, 27)  I believe Paul said this for our benefit to teach us that we must learn how much we simply can't overcome within our own strength, and to know how much we need Jesus! It’s only His grace that is sufficient to give us that overcoming victory – not our own! (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) After all, why do we need chastisement? – because God Loves us and wants to make us holy as He is holy! (Hebrews 12:5-12; 1 Peter 1:15-16) The LORD the Potter and uses whatever means necessary to bring us to repentance. Blessings,” Marcus

"The Greatest of These"
Why do we love mere men more than the Almighty LORD Jesus we feign to be serving? Why do we act as if we love the Son of God when we whore out the affections of our hearts to mere human leaders?
Spiritual adultery occurs when we alienate the affections of our hearts to anyone or anything except the one true God and LORD Jesus Christ.
"Thou shat have NO other gods before me." Exodus 20:3
"For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:" Exodus 34:14
Why does a person follow and hang on the words of a mere man or woman posing as a Christian leader? – because they do not love Jesus Christ. If they did, His Word not mans, would be the final authority their life.
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” Luke 6:46
The LORD is calling all who will be eternally with Him and not in hell to sell out wholly to Him and cease pandering to the sinful desires which are to be crucified. When we are truly walking in His holy light, we will cease to condone, support, and defend the venomous wolves who are His sworn enemies. We can’t see that truth unless we ourselves are living in the light of Holy Truth. That’s why it’s time to deeply study His Word daily for ourselves. Hell awaits all those who don’t (Proverbs 13:13). All those who are not deeply into God’s Word daily will be deceived and turned over to lies because they do not love the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12).
God will share His glory with no mere man:
"I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Isaiah 42:8
This is an exhortation to godly humility in the fear of the LORD, lest we be condemned with lucifer who sought to elevate himself and was cast down into eternal condemnation (1 Timothy 3:6).
“Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs…They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.” Psalms 74:3-4, 7
“Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations” – Did Satan not own the pulpits (center stage) of Israel? See Isaiah 56:10-12 for example and Jeremiah 23 and Ezekiel 34. Does the enemy not own the majority of pulpits and media in the church world today – intentionally shutting out the full-counsel truth of the Word of God? See Acts 20:20, 27, 32; 2 Timothy 3:16.
Isn’t prophecy being fulfilled in the modern church and “evil men and seducers” not in control of the modern church and media world? (2 Timothy 3:13)
Satan has emissaries and his goal and aim is in the middle of God’s people. He seeks to be at the helm of the control center. Look at verse 4 here again: “Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.” They set up their own “ensigns” or their own names instead of Christ’s holy name. These men have replaced the holy name above all names with their own names and the names of their organizations. They have erected “ensigns” or idols, stealing the affections of men’s hearts for themselves and away from Christ the LORD.
The enemies of God have entered in among His people and stolen the glory from the eternal King, Jesus Christ, “The Head of the body.” “The dwelling place” of His holy “name”, the name above all names is among His people and through idolatry and false emphasis, the enemy has removed essential truth and misled the people of God from Him.
“Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head (Jesus Christ), from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.” Colossians 2:18-19
It is the spirit of antichrist that elevates itself in place of Jesus Christ, the nail-scarred, risen, soon-returning Savior. This is the spirit of antichrist. Antichrist means instead of or in place of Christ.
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
“They set up their ensigns for signs” - There is one particular local church in this affluent north Dallas area, that has large pictures of the pastor throughout the facility. This is a blatant example of setting up of self ensign. What’s more insidious and deadly is the displacement of Christ as Supreme Head of His Church through subtle, false teaching and omission.
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Colossians 2:8-9
Is He Really Your “First Love”?
“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” Revelation 2:4-5
If the LORD is not truly the very "first love" in our daily lives, we shall be as those hypocrites who cry "Lord, Lord" to Jesus at the soon Judgment just before He casts us into eternal fire declaring "Depart from me!" (Matthew 7:21-23)
Jesus told us that He is coming back for a called-out people (Church) who truly fear Him, love Him supremely, have suffered for His name and Gospel's sake, and confess His holy saving name daily to others.
"Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." Ephesians 5:25-27
Why Did God Make Us with a Heart, Soul, and Mind?
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with ALL thy HEART, and with all thy SOUL, and with all thy MIND. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matthew 22:37-40
“Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.” Psalms 119:2
Chapter 13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
